Why Scoop The Poop?

How harmful is your pet’s waste?

Dogs can host up to 65 diseases that can be transmitted to humans, including parasites like hookworms, roundworms, and threadworms. When dog waste is left on the ground, it contaminates water, soil, and can spread infections to both pets and humans. Rain causes this waste to wash into waterways, raising bacteria levels in rivers and streams. Studies show that 20% of bacteria in some waterways come from dog waste.

Dog waste is unpleasant, unsightly, and can be tracked into homes, bringing harmful parasites and bacteria.

In your yard

Regularly clean your backyard to prevent dogs from stepping on their waste and bringing bacteria inside. Picking up dog waste helps keep pets healthy and reduces bacteria and nutrients from reaching local waters. Bagged waste can be disposed of in household trash on pickup day, ensuring it's properly sealed to avoid odors.

While out on walks

Always carry disposable bags and clean up after your pet on walks. Properly dispose of pet waste by bagging it and placing it in a trash can or designated pet waste receptacle. In the woods, pick up after your pet and avoid tossing bagged waste into the woods or storm drains.
